Chinese state broadcaster China Media Group (CMG) on Tuesday unveiled its first AI-dubbed English documentary series "On the Trail of the Chinese Dragon" on its 5G new media platform, Yangshipin.
To mark the Year of the Dragon, the Chinese version of the micro-documentary series "On the Trail of the Chinese Dragon" was previously broadcast on CMG's CCTV-1 and CCTV-9 television channels.
The English AI-dubbed version of the series consists of 7 episodes, each lasting about 5 minutes. With humorous explanations and witty visuals, it integrates elements of history, literature, archaeology and biology, and introduces a range of well-known cultural relics themed on the Chinese dragon in history, such as the C-shaped Hongshan culture jade dragon and a turquoise dragon-shaped artifact unearthed from the Erlitou site.

As the latest milestone in the application of AI since the establishment of CMG's AI studio, the English documentary series uses artificial intelligence technology to support the entire translation process, including sound recognition, text translation, voice cloning, and track replacement.
The AI-dubbed documentary series will also be broadcast on CMG's CGTN and CCTV.com platforms.
