A vessel carrying some 200 tonnes of aid to Gaza left Cyprus on March 12 as part of a joint aid project known as "Amalthea." Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides announced the news in a statement after the ship, owned by Open Arms, a Spanish NGO, left the Larnaca port in southern Cyprus, towing a barge loaded with food, water and pharmaceuticals.
