River lantern festival was celebrated in Dacuijiazhuang Village in Yuxian County, north China's Shanxi Province. Local villagers and tourists floated hundreds of lanterns on the Hutuo River. The river lantern festival in the county has a history spanning nearly 800 years. In local culture, the lanterns symbolize people's wishes for a safe and prosperous year.
