Team China advanced in multiple events at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Singapore Smash on Thursday, following world No.1 Fan Zhendong and Olympic champion Ma Long's shock exits in the men's singles contention a day ago.

Fan shook off the despair to dispatch local pair Quek Izaac and Pang Yew En Koen with teammate Wang Chuqin 9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-4. Ma and Lin Gaoyuan later joined the pair to earn another men's doubles semifinal berth with a full-set win over Belgian duo Martin Allegro and Adrien Rassenfosse.

Liang Jingkun advanced over Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto in the men's singles with a hard-fought victory, coming back from two sets down 9-11, 12-14, 11-5, 11-6, 11-8.

On the women's side, Wang Yidi downed South Korean veteran Suh Hyowon 3-0 to set up her next match with teammate Qian Tianyi.

Mixed duo Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, who are looking for a title defense, are set to take the stage in the last fixture of the day.
