Russia's Foreign Ministry will summon Austria's ambassador in Moscow, Russian state news agency TASS reported on Thursday.

The move comes after Austria declared two diplomats from the Russian embassy persona non grata and ordered them to leave Austria within a week, accusing them of actions incompatible with their diplomatic status.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the actions an "unfriendly step" and said it would take "retaliatory measures."
