The Zhanjiang Bay undersea tunnel on the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway in south China's Guangdong Province completed the drilling phase on Friday after 33 months of construction.
Crossing the sea floor of the Zhanjiang Bay, the tunnel is 9,640 meters long, making it the longest cross-sea high-speed railway tunnel drilled with single-ended shield tunneling machinery in China so far.
