Seven military personnel and six terrorists were killed on Saturday when terrorists attacked a security forces' post in North Waziristan district in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a military statement said.

The attack was carried out by six terrorists in the Mir Ali area of the district during the early hours, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement in the afternoon.

During the ensuing clearance operation, the terrorists were effectively engaged by the troops, the ISPR said, adding that all of the terrorists were killed in the operation.
