The public safety situation in Haiti has recently deteriorated, with several gangs attacking public facilities in the capital, Port-au-Prince, and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry. Henry announced on March 11 that the government would resign after the formation of a transitional presidential council, but the situation in the country remains unstable. In addition to destabilizing local security, the gangs are also obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid, making life difficult for the people. The continued attacks in the city are very upsetting for residents. CGTN Stringer spoke to two locals in Port-au-Prince who said gangs had looted and destroyed their homes, leaving them with nowhere to go.
