China's new visa-free policy for citizens of Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg takes effect today. The visa exemption permits citizens from these six countries to visit China for business, tourism, family visits, or transit for up to 15 days. This trial period takes place between March 14 and November 30. It follows up on China's visa exemptions last year for France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia. CGTN's Bi Ran talks to the President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce, Jens Eskelund, on the latest policy. Eskelund said that removing the visa obstacle is a positive signal that facilitates the resumption of people-to-people exchanges.
