A forest fire broke out on Friday afternoon in Baizi Village, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, in southwest China's Sichuan Province, as reported by CMG.
The fire intensified on Saturday afternoon due to high winds. Over 700 emergency crew members and firefighters continued battling the blaze, accompanied by seven helicopters, while over 400 additional emergency responders were en route to aid in containment efforts.
A total of 735 people have been evacuated as the local government issued a level-4 response and dispatched a work team to the scene.
No casualties have been reported.
Local authorities stated that the fire is still raging, with thick smoke engulfing the site.
It is reported that a photovoltaic power station in the region remains unaffected, but communication with a hydroelectric station is currently interrupted.
A section of a highway passing through the region has been temporarily closed.
