Legacies of War: UXO Lessons in Vietnamese Schools

In Vietnam, children are learning about UXOs, or unexploded ordnance, to keep themselves and their families safe. With their country still littered with unexploded bombs, landmines and rockets deployed by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War, they will need more than just knowledge of math, English, and science to secure a brighter future. Ho Van Lai, who lost his sight and three of his limbs, wishes he had learned about UXOs at school. That's precisely why he is ensuring that more Vietnamese children won't suffer the same fate as he did.
