Idyllic night river cruises, fine dining, leisurely strolls and more await visitors at the Liangma River International Waterfront, a new tourism landmark of Beijing.

Situated in the city's Chaoyang District, the Liangma River International Waterfront has been chosen as one of the first batch of over 40 immersive smart tourism experience spaces to be under focused development efforts, as announced recently by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

As dusk falls, the landscape lights up along the Liangma River, presenting a charming and vibrant river view to tourists and locals alike. The winding riverbanks have 24 bridges and 18 vista points, where the contemporary allure of techno-based stages intersects with the peaceful ambiance of natural settings along the six-kilometer boating route.

Boats glide along the water while people stroll along the riverside. Here, an 800,000-square meter riverside park has been constructed, offering 75% of public leisure space. Within this space, visitors can find attractions such as popular coffee shops, public showplaces, immersive theaters, and a number of restaurants rated by the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide, which evaluates the culinary skills of restaurants within a standard of Chinese cuisine.

The Liangma River is an important part of Chaoyang's canal culture, originating from a moat in the northeast, passing through Beijing's Chaoyang Park and eventually merging with the Bahe River.
