A Level-4 emergency response has been activated to combat the raging forest fire in southwest China's Sichuan Province, announced the provincial emergency management department on Sunday. The fire erupted in Baizi Village, Yajiang County, in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garze, at around 5 p.m. on Friday. The fire rapidly spread to other areas due to sudden increases in wind speed, as reported by the headquarters of forest and grassland fire prevention and control in Garze. Currently, 3,396 individuals affected by the fire situation have been safely evacuated, with no casualties reported.
