China's annual Two Sessions provides a window to observe the ideas and practices of whole-process people's democracy. In a country with about one-fifth of the world's population, people are actively participating in democratic practices, ranging from state legislation to local matters.

Steven Back, a Hungarian vlogger who has lived in China for nearly 20 years, learned about Niu Huang Village, a small village in Yubei District, Chongqing Municipality, through his research on rural traditional architecture. He witnessed a "village assembly" and learned that villagers have benefited from China's self-governing system for villages and the strategy of rural revitalization.

He said, "In Niu Huang Village, locals can elect members of the village committee by themselves. If they encounter problems, they can attend the village assembly. This is a nice example of self-governance for villagers, which can also help them improve their lives in the future."
