In the latest round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Gaza Strip is facing the threat of famine due to Israel's sustained blockade, making it extremely difficult for humanitarian aid to enter the region.
On March 18, the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization issued a report on food security, warning that a famine could break out at any time in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. On the same day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and various UN agencies called on Israel to allow more humanitarian aids into the Gaza Strip.
