"China advocates the democratization of international relations, the building of an open world economy, the realization of a global governance system, the high-quality building of the Belt and Road, promotion of exchanges among civilizations, and the building of a community of shared future," said Zhang Yuyan, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) member, and Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics, CASS, at the third International Forum on Democracy: The Shared Human Values held in Beijing on March 20. He added that this "is the year of the dragon, and it is significant because the dragon is seen as a totem of fusion of different animals, just as ancient China was reflected by the fusion of different clans that came together."
