An ancient murrelet, or Synthliboramphus antiquus, was seen foraging in Shenzhen Bay in south China's Guangdong Province. It was the second time the species had been spotted in Shenzhen since showing up in the city in January.
The ancient murrelet is the only bird known to cross the entire North Pacific. Its bill resembles that of a sparrow while its torso resembles a penguin's and its feet look like a duck's.
