China's forest coverage rate increased from 21 percent in 2012 to 24 percent in 2022, and the area of artificial forests has reached 86 million hectares, ranking first globally. Shen Yiyang, director of the Inclusive Development Research Center in Beijing, says China has taken integrated approaches to restore degraded forest ecosystems.
