Free concerts held on the roadsides of Guiyang, southwest China's Guizhou Province have made headlines again recently for injecting impetus into the local entertainment and tourism industries of the city.

Following the successful holding of similar concerts in 2022 and 2023 at the city's popular shopping streets, tourist destinations and university areas, musicians continue to offer warmth and happiness to the city's dwellers and tourists.

For example, during an open-air concert at Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park on Wednesday, locals and tourists had a chance to enjoy an audio feast from the performance delivered by Guiyang Symphony Orchestra together with famous soprano Yin Xiumei, tenor Zhang Yingxi and conductor Li Haoran.

Another roadside concert held on Friday at Time Town, a famous themed shopping street in Guiyang, also attracted a large number of audience. Themed on "love," it invited university bands, folk musicians and local music lovers.

The roadside concerts have become a brand in Guiyang that not only close the distance between the audience and musicians but also offer a platform for local musicians and music lovers to showcase their talent. Concerts held in the city also give a boost to the development of the local tourism market.
