President Xi Jinping has called for solid efforts to further energize China's central region, which is home to over a quarter of the country's population. The Chinese president made the remarks on Wednesday at a symposium in Changsha, Hunan Province. The central region covers the provinces of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan.
