Dozens were killed and more than 100 injured after a shooting at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in the northwest of Moscow on Friday, according to preliminary data from the Russian Federal Security Service.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has called the incident a "terrorist attack" and has urged the global community to condemn it.
A criminal case for the terrorist attack has been opened, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia.
Pakistani and Turkish foreign ministries have issued statements strongly condemning the terrorist attack at the concert hall near Moscow.
Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega strongly condemned the terrorist attack and expressed his deepest sympathies to the victims' families and reiterated his country's unwavering support for Russia in a letter addressed to President Vladimir Putin.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran strongly condemns the terrorist acts that took place in Moscow, emphasizing that the international community must take serious and effective actions to combat terrorism.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani both strongly condemned the terrorist attack. They expressed their condolences to the victims' families and the Russian people. As stated by Maduro, Venezuela opposes any violence that threatens the peace of the world.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he "strongly condemns the terrorist attack claimed by the Islamic State," according to the Elysee Palace.
"France expresses its solidarity with the victims, their loved ones and all the Russian people," the palace said.
The terrorist attack in Moscow was also condemned by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The secretary-general condemns "in the strongest possible terms" the terrorist attack at a concert hall outside Moscow, said Farhan Haq, his deputy spokesman, in a statement.
Guterres conveys his deep condolences to the bereaved families and the people and the government of Russia, and wishes those injured a speedy recovery, said the statement.
