Data released by the Institute for Economics and Peace, an international think tank headquartered in Sydney, Australia suggests that terrorism has become a global threat. The report on the Global Terrorism Index shows more than 90 percent of terrorist attacks and 98 percent of its-related deaths last year occurred in conflict zones. Professor Wang Jiang, deputy dean of the Institute of China's Borderland Studies at Zhejiang Normal University, says terrorism bred in conflict zones will continue to expand its influence and pose a threat to global security.
