The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines on Monday lodged stern representations with the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines over the illegal trespassing on Ren'ai Jiao by Philippine vessels.
Violating its own commitments, and regardless of China's firm opposition and repeated warning, one Philippine supply ship and two coast guard vessels, last Saturday, intruded into the waters adjacent to the Ren'ai Jiao of China's Nansha Qundao, attempting to transport construction materials to the illegally "grounded" warship for its reinforcement, said the embassy in a statement.
The Chinese Coast Guard regulated, intercepted and expelled the vessels in accordance with laws and regulations, successfully thwarted the Philippine side's attempt, and handled the situation in a reasonable, legal, and professional manner, according to the statement.
