UNSC adopts resolution demanding ceasefire in Gaza for Ramadan

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday adopted a resolution that calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for Ramadan.

The United States abstained in Monday's vote.

The resolution, which demands an "immediate ceasefire" for the ongoing Muslim holy month of Ramadan that leads to a "lasting" truce, passed with all 14 of the remaining Security Council members voting yes.
