Russia says open to talks with U.S., favors 'comprehensive discussion'

Russia is open to talks with the United States but favors a comprehensive discussion of all issues, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday, commenting on possible contacts between the two countries.

Earlier in the day, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that he had agreed with U.S. officials to establish contacts on bilateral issues next week, Russian media reported.

Kremlin's position stresses the importance of considering all issues affecting Russia-U.S. relations rather than isolating specific topics, according to Peskov.

"It is impossible to take some issues out of context, from the general context that now dominates our bilateral relations," Peskov said, noting that Russia is open to "a comprehensive discussion of all issues."
