Whether it was by watching the demonstrations of professional performers or by staging a show themselves, students in many parts of China have had a chance to experience the charm of the traditional Chinese operas up close ahead of World Theatre Day, which is celebrated on March 27 each year. As part of a campaign called "Opera on Campus," such activities have been held across China in recent years to promoting the culture of traditional Chinese operas among students and cultivate potential future practitioners of these ancient art forms.
