In the central Chinese city of Changsha, buildings along the Xiangjiang River are decorated with lights featuring elements from China and Honduras. The illuminations have been put up to mark the first anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, has forged a friendship city status with San Pedro Sula in Honduras.
On March 26, 2023, China and Honduras officially established diplomatic relations. Over the past year, significant progress has been achieved in diverse areas of cooperation including trade, education, the media and even archaeology.
