Chinese designer brand SUBAI presented more than 30 sets of clothing with the elements of Xizang on Tuesday at autumn/winter 2024 (AW24) China Fashion Week. Most of the clothes use pulu – a Xizang traditional woolen fabric, hand-dyed craftsmanship, and a hand-weaving method, which is a form of intangible cultural heritage. The brand positions itself as China-chic style, valuing nature and harmony. Designer Ma Guai says she often applies innovative thinking to "revive" Chinese ethnic culture and characteristics.
