The mine tailings reservoir consists of various colors, like a natural palette glowing in sunlight, forming picturesque scenery in Huangshi, central China's Hubei Province. The city is one of the birthplaces of bronze mining and smelting in the country. While promoting local economic and social development, the accumulated tailings had threatened the local ecological environment. Local authorities have taken advantage of modern technology to reduce the discharge of wastewater, waste gas and waste residue and carry out clean-up and harmless treatment of the collected wastewater. After years of concerted efforts, the environment has been improving and since attracted many wild ducks to live there.
