Belgian farmers blocked major roads as they staged their third demonstration this year in Brussels to oppose the agricultural policies of the European Union on March 26.

They drove tractors into the capital city's downtown area, forcing traffic to a standstill around EU institutions.

The farmers were calling for a more equitable pricing system for agricultural products, contending that they have faced unfair competition from cheap grain imports from Ukraine after price liberalization.
