China slams 'military collusion' between the U.S. and Taiwan region

A Chinese official on Friday slammed the "military collusion" between the U.S. and the Taiwan region, urging Washington to immediately stop any official interactions with the island.

When asked to comment on the potential visit by Taiwan's navy chief to the U.S. next week, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian reaffirmed that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, warning Washington against sending any wrong message to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.

"The one-China principle is the political foundation of China-U.S. relations," Lin said. "China urges the U.S. to fully recognize the high sensitivity of the Taiwan question and the grave harm of relevant issues."

Lin also urged the U.S. to deliver on its commitments with concrete actions, abide by the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiqués.
