The Japanese government on March 28 approved the country's fiscal budget for the 2024 fiscal year, of which the defense budget makes up a record high of over 7.9 trillion yen ($56 billion). On the same day, Japanese people held a rally in Tokyo to protest against the increase in defense spending and the decision to allow the export of Japanese jet fighters to other countries.
