Shared gardens are growing in popularity in China, becoming a hot topic on the country's social media platforms.

UrFarms, a shared garden that opened last October in east China's Shanghai, receives up to 100 families during sunny weekends.

Customers can rent a piece of land and choose from a list of vegetables to plant. Usually, they need to take care of the vegetables, including planting, watering, weeding and harvesting. The farm also offers these facilities for a fee.

"Most people rented a garden and asked for our help to look after the vegetables. They come once every two weeks," said Kluer Lin, founder of UrFarms.

Activities such as horse riding, tea drinking and camping are also provided on the farm to attract more customers.
