A new direct flight between Chinese capital Beijing and south China's Macao Special Administrative Region was launched on April 1. The new flight is operated by China Southern Airlines, from Beijing Daxing International Airport. A launch ceremony was held before the first flight took off. The new route is part of the airline's strategy to get ready for a possible boom in international travel this year. The airline uses an Airbus 321 on this route. The flight will be operated every day after the trial period which lasts until April 25. The airline says it plans to add 17 international routes, including Amsterdam, London, Doha, Riyadh and Tehran.
