A dolphin stranded on a tidal flat in Wenling City, east China's Zhejiang Province, was rescued and released on Sunday.

The dolphin was found in the coastal town of Binhai in Wenling, with a short breath and dry skin, when firefighters arrived. The rescuers worked with local police and villagers to move the dolphin into the water. They patted it to offer comfort.

Later, fishery staff arrived and worked with others to get the dolphin onto a fishing boat and release it into the sea.

The dolphin was stranded probably because its biological navigation system suffered a disorder when the tide ebbed, according to experts.
