UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday condemned the attack on diplomatic premises of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus on Monday, according to a statement on the UN website.

The principle of the inviolability of diplomatic and consular premises and personnel must be respected in all cases in accordance with international law, and all concerned should avoid attacks that could harm civilians and damage civilian infrastructure, Guterres said.
