Giant panda Fu Bao returned to the city of Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan Province from Everland, a theme park in Yongin, South Korea on Wednesday.

Fu Bao will be granted accommodation and quarantined at the Shenshuping Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Wolong.

The Shenshuping Base has fully prepared for Fubao's arrival. Multiple working teams have been set up to care for her, and each team has made an emergency plan to ensure that Fubao is healthy and safe during the quarantine.

It is still unknown where Fubao will reside after the quarantine. However, it has been confirmed that she will settle in one of the four China Conservation and Research Center giant panda bases in Sichuan.

Born in the Korean city of Yongin in July 2020, Fu Bao quickly attracted a following in the country and was dubbed a "top celebrity in South Korea."

She was the first panda cub ever bred in the peninsular country, birthed by panda Le Bao and fathered by Ai Bao. The pair arrived in South Korea in March 2016 on a 15-year lease.

Panda fans in South Korea braved rainy weather on Wednesday to see off their beloved Fu Bao as she embarked on her journey to China.
