Over 250,000 households in Bolivia affected by heavy rains

The extreme weather in Bolivia's rainy season that began in November last year has affected a total of 255,657 households across the country, leaving 1,529 houses completely destroyed, the country's Civil Defense said on April 1.

Nine provinces in the country were affected by extreme weather, with a total of 163 cities affected, 27 of which were declared to be in a state of emergency.

Bolivia's National Meteorology and Hydrology Service has issued an orange alert for 236 cities this week, saying that this round of heavy rainfall may continue until mid-April.
