At least nine people were confirmed dead in China's Taiwan region after massive earthquakes hit the area. According to the Taiwan Power Company, after the earthquakes, more than 300,000 households in Taiwan experienced power outages. Even after power was gradually restored, over 87,132 households remained without electricity.

The magnitude-7.3 earthquake jolted the sea near Hualien of China's Taiwan at 7:58 a.m. on April 3 (Beijing Time), followed by multiple aftershocks, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
