Four people died and another 97 sustained injuries after a magnitude-7.3 earthquake hit Hualien, China's Taiwan region, on Wednesday morning.
Multiple provinces and cities in the south, east and even central part of China also felt the tremors. In Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, many people said they experienced buildings shaking mildly. In southeast China's Fujian Province, which is the closest mainland province to Taiwan, residents felt stronger tremors. Some early-warning apps said tremors in coastal areas of Fujian had a magnitude of 4.0.
