Scholarly cooperation and exchange between China and the U.S. are on an uptick, says Scott Kennedy, the senior adviser and trustee chair of Chinese Business and Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. With 35 years of experience traveling to China, Kennedy, one of the leading scholars that restored China-U.S. academic exchanges in the past two years, noted a recovery in academic engagement since 2022. He emphasizes the vital role of universities, governments and research institutions in reviving scholarly cooperation.
