Less than a couple of hours' drive from Beijing, the Xiongan New Area has been designed as a green city featuring innovation and providing a national model of high-quality development.

Dubbed a "city of the future," the city marked its seventh anniversary on April 1.

During these years, Xiongan has transformed from a blueprint into an actual city. There are now over 3,000 buildings on what used to be barren lowlands and rundown villages. Intelligence, green and innovation are the three key words for the city's high-quality development.
