Chinese President Xi Jinping joined a voluntary tree planting activity in Beijing's Tongzhou District on Wednesday, part of a nationwide greening endeavor that deeply touched and motivated local officials and students.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, was warmly welcomed at the planting site by officials and students.
