Panda cub spotted following its mother in the wild in SW China

For the first time ever, a giant panda cub aged around 4 months was filmed by infrared cameras at a nature reserve in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Video clips taken by two infrared cameras on February 29 and March 2 showed the cub closely following its mother in the snow-covered woods in Baiyang Provincial Nature Reserve – a rare scene for the usually solitary species.

According to the staff, the distance between the two infrared cameras is about 500 meters. After analyzing and comparing the locations of the infrared cameras, the shooting time, the activities of the giant pandas and the regional habitat, the rangers with the natural reserve reached the conclusion that the two infrared cameras captured the same pair of giant pandas.
