China's intercity passenger traffic is expected to reach around 752.8 million on the three-day Qingming Festival holiday from April 4 to 6, data from the Ministry of Transport showed on Saturday.
The figure represents an average daily growth of about 56.1 percent compared with the same period in 2023, according to the ministry.
Railway and road trips experienced an average daily increase of 75.3 percent and 55.1 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese festival for people to pay tribute to the dead and worship their ancestors.
