Qingming, the fifth solar term of the 24 solar terms on the Chinese lunar calendar, literally means pure and clear, symbolizing spring's freshness and vivid natural scenery. During this time, the sun shines brightly, plants sprout, flowers bloom, and the natural world presents a dynamic scene. People use the Qingming solar term for its phenological reasons to guide farming and plowing.
Qingming Festival, also called Tomb-Sweeping Day, has humanistic meaning since Chinese people mourn their deceased family members and worship their ancestors.
