China has expressed serious concerns over the U.S. economic and trade restrictions against China. But the U.S. has repeatedly vowed not to decouple with China in trade. Wang Yaojing, an assistant professor in economics at Peking University, says that the segmentation between U.S. strategic policies and domestic markets has led to a situation where the U.S. threatens to decouple with China while simultaneously pledging not to do so.
