Israel's two-week raid utterly devastates Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital

00:38

A UN convoy finally gained access to Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital on Friday, only to find that it had been entirely destroyed after a 14-day siege by Israeli troops. The hospital, the largest in Gaza, had served as a beacon of refuge and resilience for Palestinians but had been described by the Israelis as a mustering point and command center for Hamas. When the assault began on March 18, Gaza's Ministry of Health said about 3,000 people were inside the hospital. The UN senior humanitarian affairs officer said Al-Shifa Hospital has been gutted and has become a graveyard. All of the main structures of Al-Shifa were blasted and blackened. Walls are missing, and shards of cement flooring are seen pulling against twisted rebar after the Israel Defense Forces' withdrawal.
