China's Urban Air Mobility technology platform company EHang has announced that its EH216-S passenger-carrying pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft obtained a production certificate on April 7. The certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is the first of its type in the global eVTOL industry – establishing clear guidelines and documentation for the production procedure of the air taxi. The aircraft has obtained three key licenses: the world's first Type Certificate, Standard Airworthiness Certificate and Production Certificate. It's ready to begin mass production and commercial operations.
