Yuncheng County in Heze City, Shandong Province is recognized as the birthplace of the story of one of China's Four Great Classical Novels, "Water Margin," known as Shuihu Zhuan in Mandarin. This iconic tale, written sometime in the mid-14th century by Shi Nai'an, enjoys widespread acclaim domestically and internationally. Legend has it that 72 of the 108 heroes in the story came from Yuncheng, which shows its literary significance.

The Shuihu Hero City located in Heze is a comprehensive tourist destination integrating elements of literature, ancient architecture, martial arts, intangible cultural heritage, folk customs, and performing arts. Spanning more than 600 acres, it features 108 attractions, offering visitors a unique and enriching experience steeped in cultural heritage.
